Where are you going next?
We hope to inspire you with some of our favorite places—those we’ve visited and those we hope to see someday.
It’s a Tuesday in February and no vacation in sight?—we share our tips on how to bring some of the joy of travel to any day.
Happy wanderings…
We have a weakness for a room with a view
Sleep–Who Doesn’t Love a Good Hotel?
We aren’t from the “we’re never in the room anyway” school. Even if it is just a place to sleep, sleep is important. Your hotel should be your haven.
We fantasize about fabulous hotels the way some dream about sports cars, or Jimmy Choos. We have a weakness for a room with a view, and if it has a bathtub with a view, even better.
Location is critical. We like to immerse ourselves in a city neighborhood and explore on foot or soak in the mountains, oceans, and lakes from a cozy balcony.
We always look for value and appreciate service that is truly welcoming.
Eat–From Michelin Stars to Golden Arches
…just kidding – kind of. We do appreciate fine dining, but more frequently, you’ll find us dining well in more casual local spots. Is that a nonna I spy in the kitchen? Table for two, please.
Or you might just find us on a park bench with a sandwich.
We seek the best eats in every destination and focus on options that are uniquely local.
Lately, you’ll spot us at more vegetable-forward places. You’ll be surprised at how many restaurants feature plant-based meals that will tempt any diner.

Schedules are for the rest of life. Let your time away be a true escape.
Eat–Unabashedly lazy.
We don’t gone on trips with checklists.
We do research heavily, but for options, not obligations.
Once a trip is in motion, we let it take its own shape. And if you feel like sleeping in one day, and can, or lingering a little longer over lunch, isn’t that the greatest luxury?

Didn’t see the Mona Lisa on your trip to Paris? All the more reason to return. And that’s a good thing.
